Flood Warning: Groundwater flooding in villages surrounding Andover

Groundwater levels in the villages surrounding Andover are high and slowly falling. During the last week, 22mm of rainfall was recorded in Andover. We expect that cellar flooding is ongoing in Appleshaw, Hatherden, Penton Grafton and Penton Mewsey. Road flooding is occurring to the main road into Penton Grafton and the road from Biddesden to Appleshaw. Sewerage network and septic tank impacts are ongoing across most villages. From today (08/05/2024) to Sunday (12/05/2024), high pressure with more settled, drier weather is expected across Hampshire. We expect groundwater levels to continue slowly falling. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Wednesday 15/05/2024.
