Message Last Updated:

Groundwater levels in Bishops Sutton are high but slowly falling by 7cm a week at present. The last week has been relatively dry with only 8mm being recorded at Bishops Sutton rain gauge. We expect properties in Bishops Sutton will be experiencing cellar flooding. Isolated properties may still have residual flood water affecting the ground floor of their properties. Roads (such as the B3047) will be flooded, particularly after heavy rainfall. Impacts to septic tanks are ongoing. From today (09/05/2024) to Saturday (11/05/2024), the weather is expected to be dry. A little rainfall, approximately 5mm, is expected on both Sunday (12/05/2024) and on Monday (13/05/2024). We expect groundwater levels to continue to slowly fall over the next week. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Thursday (17/05/2024).
