Groundwater levels in Bramdean and Cheriton are high but falling slowly. In the last week, the level at Cheriton Wood has fallen by 35cm. We expect isolated properties in Cheriton will be affected by cellar flooding. Septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively. From today (09/05/2024) to Saturday (11/05/2024), the weather is expected to be dry. A little rainfall, approximately 5mm, is expected on both Sunday (12/05/2024) and on Monday (13/05/2024). We expect groundwater levels to continue to slowly fall over the next week. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Thursday (16/05/2024).
