Flood Warning: Groundwater flooding in Hambledon

Groundwater levels in Hambledon are high but slowly falling. At our borehole at Whitedale Farm, the level has fallen by 2.84m in the last week. During this time, a month’s rain (54mm) has been recorded at Worlds End. Only minimal groundwater flooding impacts are expected to roads and the sewerage system. From today 02/05/2024 to Monday 06/05/2024, further spells of rain, some of which may be heavy, are forecast in Hampshire with between 10 and 50mm possible during this time. Groundwater levels are expected to continue falling initially, but could begin rising again next week if heavy rain affects Hambledon. If levels continue falling, and dry weather is forecast next week, this Flood Alert will be removed. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We advise residents to remain prepared while heavy rain continues to affect Hambledon. This Flood Alert will be updated or removed by 18:00 on Thursday 09/05/2024.
