Groundwater is high, close to the surface at the Compton borehole, but over ten metres lower than during winter, and falling thirty centimetres each day. Minor groundwater flood impacts are expected to continue, with springs affecting fields, and water on roads including Stoughton main road and the road from East Marden. Groundwater could affect a small number of properties close to the village green Stoughton, and possibly basements of properties in Walderton too. No rain is forecast for the next five days, with high pressure predicted to bring settled weather. Groundwater will still not fall fast, with minor flood impacts potentially persisting until mid May. If you have pumps to help reduce groundwater levels in your property, ensure they are operational. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 18:00 10/05/2024.
