Flood Warning: River Thames for the Abingdon area

"High river levels this morning may lead to flooding.



Flooding of low lying land and roads along the River Thames is expected to continue today, 12 December 2025, in the Abingdon area. The forecast is for bands of rain particularly through the morning, some of which may be heavy. Rainfall totals are not expected to be significant. River levels are now stabilising but expected to remain high and possibly out of banks over the next 24-48 hours.



We are monitoring rainfall and river levels.



Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
