High river levels on Monday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 26 January 2026 as a lot of rain is forecast from later today (35mm).
Flooding is affecting low lying land, roads, cycle tracks and footpaths close to the river. Flooding could affect Golf Links Road and Moreton Common Road. Ditches around Fort Holiday Park will struggle to drain while river levels are high. A similar event to 21/01/26 is forecast later today (Monday 26/01/26) and overnight. This will lead to an increase in flood risk. River levels in the Lower Eastern Yar may not fall until later this week, as drainage will be impeded by the tides entering their Neap cycle.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and operating Bembridge sluices.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . Just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car.
