Flood Warning: River Adur East Branch

The River Adur is high, but now falling following Wednesday's rain. Flood impacts will continue to affect fields, rural roads, the A281 at Mock Bridge, near Shermanbury, and gardens of properties near Mock Bridge. Only small amounts of rain are forecast each of the next five days, which should not increase flood risk significantly. River levels should generally continue to fall. There may be small river rises following rainfall, but we do not expect river levels to rise higher than they have been recently. Minor flood risk could remain through to the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Don't put yourself or others at risk. Avoid roads that flood. This message will be updated by 15:00 on 23/01/2026.
