Flood Warning 033WAF312
River Sow and River Penk
Warning added: 09:15, 16th January 2021
River levels remain high and steady at the Milford river gauge as a result of rainfall earlier in the week and this morning. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today Saturday 16 January 2021 and over the next few days. Flooding will affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Sow between Great Bridgford and Shugborough, the River Penk between Coven and Stafford, the Sandyford Brook, the Rising Brook, the Ridings Brook and the Saredon Brook. The rest of the weekend is forecast to be dry before more rain is forecast on Monday 18 January 2021. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated later today, Saturday 16 January 2021, or as the situation changes.
