Flood Warning: The Rivers Pant, Blackwater and Brain

High river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on Sunday 11th January 2026. River levels are high following heavy rainfall from Storm Goretti. Areas most at risk are low lying land and riverside areas on the Blackwater from Radwinter to Langford, including Great Sampford, Bridge End, Finchingfield, Bocking, Bradwell, Coggeshall and Kelvedon. And Braintree, Black Notley, White Notley and Witham on the Brain. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are not expecting the situation to escalate. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 10am Monday 12th January or as the situation changes.
