High groundwater levels may lead to flooding.

Flooding is possible from 01/02/2026 due to a wet January 2026.

In the last 24 hours, the groundwater level at Kings Somborne has risen by 14cm. Flooding could affect cellars in a small number of properties along Winchester Road, in central King's Somborne and in Little Somborne from Sunday 01/02/2026. However, the groundwater level may peak before these impacts occur. Small amounts of rain are forecast from today (30/01/2026) to Monday (02/02/2026). If heavy rain affects Kings Somborne and Little Somborne, groundwater levels will continue rising well into next week.

We are closely monitoring the situation .

Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .

This message will be updated by 6:00PM on 05 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
