Flood Warning: Whitwell, Wroxall, Langbridge, Alverstone on the Eastern Yar

High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Monday. 

Flooding is expected on 02 February 2026 , as a lot of rain (40mm) fell on 01/02/2026.  

The river level at Alverstone remains very high, but has started to slowly fall. Today (02/02/2026), flooding will continue to affect the road, a small number of properties in Alverstone and Langbridge, and will restrict access to Horringford, Golf Links Road, and footpaths. Garden flooding is expected at Whitwell High Street. No rain is expected Monday, this will allow levels at Alverstone to fall a little. However, more rain (up to 30mm) is forecast Tuesday (03/02/2026). The Eastern Yar is expected to rise again on Tuesday and could cause further property flooding. Please remain prepared.

Activate any flood protection products you may have . Including in Alverstone.
