High river levels today may lead to flooding.

Flooding is possible on 15 January 2026 .

River levels are rising at the Burton Bradstock River Gauge due to rainfall today. Flooding could affect all rivers in the West Dorset area with low lying land expected to be most affected. Flooding is possible near the Rivers Lim, Char, Winniford, Simene, Brit, Asker, Mangerton and Bride. Rainfall is expected to ease off this afternoon, but flooding may still be possible as river levels continue to react to earlier rainfall.

We are closely monitoring the situation .

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and please avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.

This message will be updated by 2:00PM on 16 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
