Flood Warning 112WAFTMBA

Bristol River Avon

Warning added: 20:15, 28th January 2020

no adsremove ads

River levels have risen at the Bradford on Avon river gauge as a result of sharp and at times heavy showers. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible between 20:00 today and 04:00 tomorrow, 29/01/2020. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Holt Road at Staverton. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point.

Further showery rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to rise until 06:00 on 29/01/2020 but no flooding of properties is likely. Our incident response staff are using CCTV or webcams to ensure structures such as sluices and weed screens are operating and no debris is accumulating.

Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued. We advise to avoid entering fast and deep moving water in case of unseen debris and other hazards. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 29/01/2020, or as the situation changes.
