Flood Warning: River Yeo and Parrett, Yeovilton to Huish Episcopi

River levels remain high following Tuesday’s rain, and this may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible throughout the remainder of Wednesday and overnight into Thursday.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Yeo and River Parrett, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the A37 south and A303 south west of Ilchester, the Ilchester to Limington road, and the road to Ilchester Meads. There is also a risk of flooding at Hainbury Mill, Ilchester.
Further rain and unsettled conditions are forecast for the coming days and rivers are expected to respond to this. We continue to monitor rainfall and river levels closely, and Field Teams are out clearing debris screens and checking rivers for blockages.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses, and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 11:00AM on the 22nd January 2026, or as the situation changes.
