River levels remain high at the Hopwas river gauge as a result of rain and snow melt. Flooding is expected throughout today 11th January 2026 and overnight.
Flooding may affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Tame between Hopwas and the National Arboretum at Alrewas.
A band of heavy rainfall is forecast for today along with further snow melt this afternoon. As a result, river levels are expected to rise again this evening. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 11:00AM on 12th January 2026 or as the situation changes.
