Warning added: 09:58, 16th January 2021

River levels are high and forecast to rise further at the Torksey and Gainsborough river gauges as a result of high tides coinciding with high river levels. Flooding of low lying roads and agricultural land continues. River levels will rise with the next high tides around 10:30 and 22:30 today, 16/01/21. Areas most at risk are the Church Laneham to Rampton Road, low lying land and foreshore at Lea Marsh, Gainsborough, Morton, East and West Stockwith, Trent Wharfage and Gainsborough Railway Bridge. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point. No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closing locks and flood gates. Please plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers and avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 17/01/21, or as the situation changes.
