Flood Warning: Groundwater flooding in Deane and Ashe in North Hampshire

Groundwater levels in Deane and Ashe are high but falling slowly. At our borehole in Oakley, the level has fallen by 22cm in the last week. Groundwater spring flows are impacting land and roads. The access road from the B3400 into Deane (at Deane Park) is closed. Septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively. From today 22/04/2024 to Friday 26/04/2024, only small amounts of rain (up to 8mm) are forecast in Hampshire. Groundwater levels are expected to continue slowly falling and the situation will gradually improve. However, groundwater flooding impacts are expected to continue throughout April and well into May. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Monday 29/04/2024.
