Flood Warning 065FAG015Groundwater flooding in Finchdean, Dean Lane End and Rowlands CastleWarning added: 10:11, 5th March 2021 Groundwater levels remain high, but following another relatively dry week, levels are lowering at Chalton and in Finchdean. Over the next 5 days, the weather remains dry and the situation will continue to improve. In Finchdean, the initial rate of fall will be relatively slow, at 1-2 cms per day. While the Idsworth Lavant will flow, it is less likely that pumps used to prevent water from entering property will be required. On Wednesday (10/03/2021) as long as the weather outlook for the following 5 to 10 days indicates that significant and heavy rain is not expected, then we will remove this Flood Alert. We continue to monitor the forecast. While groundwater levels remain high, we would still like residents to remain prepared for further flood impacts, in case very wet weather returns over the next few weeks. This message will be updated or removed by 12:00 on Wednesday 10 March 2021. |
