Flood Warning: River Piddle and tributaries

This is a Flood Alert Update. River levels are currently stable and remain high at South House, Little Puddle and Briantspuddle river gauges. Flooding could still affect locations near the River Piddle, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around tributaries between Alton Pancras and Wareham. Further rain is forecast for the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses, and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water. People in this area should continue to monitor local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 8 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
