Flood Warning: South Cornwall coast from Lizard Point to Gribbin Head excluding the Tidal Fal Estuary

High tides, strong winds and large waves over the next three days may lead to flooding.  



Flooding is possible from the evening of Tuesday 3 February over all high tides to Friday 6 February inclusive.  



Areas at risk include low lying coastal communities including Cadgwith and Coverack, Porthallow, the tidal Helford Estuary, Maenporth and Swanpool, St.Mawes, East Portholland, Gorran Haven, Portmellon, Mevagissey, Pentewan and Par.



High tide at Falmouth on Tuesday PM is 18:45, Wednesday AM is 07:01, times of high water vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.93m. Expect tide levels to be between 0.4 and 0.55 metres above tide table level with waves up to 3m. Force 3-6 E - SE winds are forecast. Further flood alerts and warnings are likely, with tides peaking on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded.
