A flood alert has been updated by the Environment Agency.



Flood alert in force: Tyne and Wear coast



Flooding is possible for: North Sea from St Mary's Lighthouse to Crimdon Park, North Hartlepool



High tides, strong winds and large waves today and tomorrow may lead to flooding.



Flooding is possible this afternoon into this evening from 03:00PM TO 07:00PM on 04/02/2026 and tomorrow morning from 03:30AM to 07:30AM on 05/02/2026.



Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths.



We are closely monitoring the situation.



Avoid coastal footpaths, which may be flooded.
