High tides over the next three days may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible Flooding is possible during high tides from 05:00AM on 22/01/2026 till the evening of the 25/01/2026 

Coastal roads and footpaths around Port of Sunderland Harbour are likely to be most affected. High tides, large waves and strong easterly winds are forecast, which may lead to water overtopping and coastal spray. 

We are closely monitoring the situation Should the situation change the message will be updated. 

Avoid coastal roads, which may be flooded .Also avoid the coastal footpath, beaches and carparks, that can be flooded
