Flood Warning 122WAF946
Upper River Ouse
Warning added: 15:13, 16th March 2018
This flood alert has been issued as levels on the River Ouse are steadily rising in response to recent rainfall across the catchment. The river level at York is currently forecast to reach 2m in the early hours of Saturday morning, after which levels are expected to continue to rise. The rate of rise will be slow. Current forecasts indicate a peak level of between 2.3m and 2.5 on Saturday afternoon. Upper catchment levels are due to peak on Friday evening which may impact on the amount of rise and the timing of the peak seen on the Ouse. Further outbreaks of rain and snow showers are forecast for over the next 24hrs but we do not anticipate this to cause any further impact. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message with the latest forecast information. Please continue to check the GOV.UK website for current river levels.
