This flood alert has been issued as levels on the River Ouse are steadily rising in response to recent rainfall across the catchment. The river level at York is currently forecast to reach above 2m in the early hours of Saturday morning after which levels are expected to continue to slowly rise. Levels at Naburn are just above 1.5m and will begin to gradually rise during Saturday. Levels downstream at Cawood and Selby are currently within the normal tidal range. We will continue to monitor the situation. Please continue to check the GOV.UK website for current river levels and more detailed weather forecasts from the Met Office.
