Although levels within the River Aire continue to gradually fall, the washlands will remain high for the next few days. Flood warnings are still in force for Hirst Courtney, Hirst Marsh and West Marsh, and we are pumping in the area. Further rain is forecast this weekend and it is likely that the river level will respond to this additional rainfall.
Our Leeds incident room remains open and we have operational staff in the area checking defences and monitoring the situation. Please take care near rivers, stay away from riverbanks and plan your driving routes to avoid low-lying land and roads which could be flooded. See GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast and the Met Office for weather forecasts. We will update this message by 8pm on 20/02/20 or if the situation changes
