Heavy rainfall in the early hours of this morning has caused rising river levels which may lead to flooding of land and road. Flooding is possible from 9:00 AM today 15/09/2025.

Areas most at risk include Rivers Wampool and Ellen and other watercourses, from Dalston to Maryport including low lying areas around Wigton, Abbeytown, Silloth, Allonby, Aspatria and Dearham.

Persistent rainfall is expected to continue throughout the day today into the evening.

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
