Rising river levels this evening may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible on 12 January 2026 . 

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads along the River Amber around Ambergate. Light rainfall is forecast over the next 24hours. River levels at Wingfield Park Gauge will rise until 21:00 on 12/01/26. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .
