High river levels on Wednesday may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible on 18 February 2026 from 22:00, as a lot of rain (35mm) is forecast today. 

Flooding could affect gardens of Brook Street and Gosford Way and the Gosford Way Allotments. Riverside properties at Millstream Gardens, The Millrace, Clement Lane, Brightling Road, and Manor Way could also be affected by flooding. Rain is forecast to continue until 02:00 on 19/02/2026. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in Polegate and Wannock by 10:00 on 19/02/2026. 

We are closely monitoring the situation and clearing debris screens including Gosford Way. 

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . Report blockages to 0800 80 70 60.
