Water levels remain high and continued flooding is expected on Friday evening and on Saturday, 31/01/2026. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads around Moorland including Horlake, Saltmoor, Fordgate and Chadmead.
Levels in the River Tone and on Currymoor are stable although still very high. The River Tone is still too high for pumping at Currymoor station. Athelney spillway is still running into Saltmoor and Northmoor. We are pumping at Northmoor and Saltmoor and have additional mobile pumps at both stations.
Showers are forecast for Friday night and on Saturday. Rainfall will mainly be light but there is potential for heavier downpours. Sunday and Monday are both forecast to be drier until more rain arrives later on Monday. Rivers remain extremely responsive to further rain.
Act on your flood plan if you have one. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 1PM on 31 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
