Flood Warning 034WAF401
River Sence in Leicestershire
Warning added: 06:33, 16th January 2021
River levels are rising at the South Wigston river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall on Saturday morning, 16/01/21. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including the farmland in Great Glen, Kilby Bridge, South Wigston and Blaby as well as the road at Crow Mills. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours, 16/01/21. We expect river levels to rise through Saturday in response to this rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated this evening, 16/01/21, or as the situation changes.
