Flood Warning 064WAF6UpStour

Upper River Stour

Warning added: 10:41, 16th January 2021

no adsremove ads

River levels remain high but are beginning to fall following Thursday’s heavy rainfall. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue today, Saturday 16 January. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads along the River Great Stour, particularly in and around Ashford, Hothfield and Great Chart. Further rainfall is forecast today so rivers levels will remain high throughout today. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated again this evening, Saturday 16 January 2021, or as the situation changes.
