Flood Warning: Lower River Derwent

River levels remain high on the River Derwent following recent rainfall. As a result, flooding is possible today, Friday 26th December 2025.

Locations most affected will be local roads and low-lying land near rivers around Stamford Bridge, Pocklington, Wressle, Wilberfoss and Elvington.

Levels are expected to fall slowly over the next few days. We are monitoring the forecast and river levels and liaising with emergency services and local authorities. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
